The Importance of Backing Up
your sites.
The two hard drives of one of my webhosts’ server died.
And me being me, have no backups of course. I don’t back up and even if I do, I do it sporadically. My last backup was over a year ago. Ha ha.
This is not the first time something like this happened to me.
But I never learn.
What to do.

I actually wrote a few sentence about blog advertorials here but after I finished writing, I don’t feel bitchy anymore.
Oh well.

Also, I’ve been thinking of restoring my archives (I have the sql database).
That is, if I can actually figure out where the hell did I save it.
But I probably won’t do it lar. (talk like no talk)

You dun have any recent backup, now how?
I usually will do bi-weekly backup for all clients and store them on a separate server. These copies work as another layer of security on top of the server automatic daily and weekly backup.
rb : cry lo.

Bryan, you very good businessman lar. RB blogs about her misery, you come here promote your hosting service.

No link, no name mentioned, like that also promote hosting service? I was merely telling my practice only.
Misery? I don’t see incident that can be avoided by doing simple a-b-c steps as misery loh. :p
Some aunties also have backups woh. Maybe they learnt from their mistakes. Don’t worry, you also can be a smart auntie one day. Wakakka…
rb : if and when I become an auntie, i won’t be and don’t want to be sitting in front of my comp churning out blog post everyday and learning how to backup my sites. i will be out in the sea, in a luxury yacht, taking in the sights, hopefully.
i think the aunties learned from their webhost’ mistake of not backing up lar. not their own. mwahaha.

Misery as in losing all her data… not misery in backing up. If there is anything to describe backing up, it is hassle. Your antenna a bit short circuit…

What “if and when you become auntie”? For sure you’ll be one lah. Wakakak…
Sea? Luxury yacht? Ok ok, let’s seeeeeeeeeeeee… :p
Peter, what I meant is that there are so many ways to avoid the misery as in losing all data mah. Your antenna doesn’t seem very long woh? Haha…
rb : if I’m still alive when the time comes la
