Confession 2

Since this year have been really suey for me, let me tell you one of the suey incidents I encountered few months back. Not sure if I’ve blogged bout it bleh but here goes..

Few months ago, I was stopped at a police road block. My first time. That road has a 70km/h speed limit if I’m not mistaken and I was going at about 80 km/h.

So this policeman waved me over and asked for my driving license/IC the usuals. He told me I was driving over the speed limit.

I said okay.

Then he looked at me and I looked back.

Forgot what he said and then he issued me a ticket obviously.

I did not offer anything and he did not ask. Maybe he was waiting for me to offer, who knows.

But at that time I had like less than 10 bucks on me so even if he had asked, I doubt I could have gotten off scot-free (I’m not saying I would have offered him the 10 bucks).

And I’ve always told myself that I’ll never give in such situations. But you know la, in theory only. Who knows what I would do if faced with such situations.

Of course, after having to fork out RM300 for the ticket, I do feel a bit stupid for not offering. Especially after my friends told me how stupid I was for not at least trying to plead or something.

So one question remains ;

If he had hinted/asked, would I have gave?

Probably not. I’ll probably buat bodoh or something.

To those who you who like to settle on the spot, NEVER offer first.

But hell, RM300 is a lot you know. Actually I paid about RM200 something. Discount ma wtf. Oh I have another story to tell. Bout when I went to pay the traffic. Haha. This might even be a more lucrative business then asking for duit kopi at road blocks. Seriously.

Anyway, the RM250-280 didn’t go to waste. Since then, I’ve never crossed the 70km/h speed everytime I’m on that road. Don’t think it reduced my chance of getting into an accident but it certainly reduced the chance of ytimes X RM250 flying out of my pocket coz I passed a few road blocks at the same spot since then.

But I still feel very stupid leh. Think of the things I could have bought with that money.

i have many other suey stories but thats for another time. but I have grown (haha). in the sense that I don’t get worked up over little things (actually its not little when it cost over a grand) anymore.

Because why waste your breath and energy over things you have no control over?

if u bribe n he was honest u will kena for bribing..worst..sometimes i think you should just pay the fine..at least your conscience will be better and they will be able to bully you..
at least you also did your part to society - you didn’t encourage corruption.

and of course, now when you drive, you are more cautious…so this has all been good…

btw as for the suey things, i feel you cos i am having that kind of year too..but apparently la..this year is not good for the ppl our years..so take it easy as it’s about to end in a months’ time *breaths hopefully*

    take care
